Dugu Banruo, disguised as a man, valiantly fought enemies on the border. However, her twin sister, who was the empress in the palace, was brutally abused and tragically died at the hands of the emperor. Dugu Banruo rushed back to the capital overnight, impersonated her sister, and devised a plan to fake the empress’s resurrection. She secretly engaged in a battle of wits with the emperor and Consort Xian in the inner court. Later, she gathered evidence, captured the murderer, and exacted revenge for her sister’s death.
