Five‑year‑old Elena, a butcher’s daughter, enters the duke’s household to support her family. She tames the mischievous young duke Heinrich by meeting force with force, and later goes to the royal palace as the princess’s page boy.Ten years later, she stands up against the king’s favoured confidant and draws her sword to seize a healer and save the princess. She is granted the title of baroness, yet ordered to marry the prince. To break off the engagement, she and her childhood friend Heinrich stage a hilarious courtship charade. All misunderstandings are finally resolved, and the two are happily wed.
