Yan Zhimo, the orphaned daughter of a loyal general, lives in seclusion in a remote mountain village. When bandits attack, her dying grandfather reveals the truth of her family’s massacre sixteen years prior. After entering the capital, she allies with the imperial grand preceptor to expose the prime minister’s treason—tampering with prophecies, colluding with enemies and framing loyal officials—and thwarts the tyrant’s cruelty.Answering the people’s plea, Yan Zhimo ascends the throne as empress, leads a human-beast army to pacify the grasslands, and ushers in an era of eternal peace.
