In a brutal famine, sixty-year-old Agnes is chased out by her son. Her heirloom silver bracelet sends her to the magical land Etherea. She trades goods across worlds to amass wealth. Her greedy son and daughter-in-law constantly plot against her, yet she stops every trick with magical items and calm wit. Winning the lord’s trust, she brings alien farming methods to end the drought, receiving a village official post and noble honors. Her wicked son serves jail time. Agnes renovates her house, the young kin wed happily, and the whole family survives the famine for a tranquil life.
