Synopsis
In a world ruled by four werewolf realms, Aria Vale, Queen of the East, and her husband, Kael Ashford, were once the envy of all. Though they were not fated mates, Kael swore before his court that love mattered more than destiny—and that Aria would be his only queen. But on the night of the Eastern realm’s celebration, a young woman named Lyra Dain appears. She is Kael’s fated mate. As their bond, hailed as a gift from the heavens, awakens, Kael and Aria’s once steadfast and celebrated marriage begins to unravel—emotionally, physically, and politically. Aria must endure the agonizing pain of destiny pulling her husband away, while the council of nobles demands that she relinquish her throne and the entire court silently accepts her sacrifice. Meanwhile, far to the north, Varek, the Black Moon King, senses an ancient royal bloodline awakening during a lunar eclipse. Its power comes from Aria. Yet devastation arrives before she can understand what this means. Northern armies advance on the Eastern border, while Dorian, heir to the Western realm, exploits the chaos. The East teeters on the brink of collapse. Finally, amid a war engulfing all four realms, Aria willingly surrenders herself to Varek—to save Kael and prevent the destruction of her kingdom. She becomes the offering that will end the war. Everyone believes she will be Varek’s captive. But in the Northern royal city, Varek tells her: “You are no trophy. You are the ruler they failed to recognize.” From that moment on, the story is no longer simply about whom she should love. It is about how a queen abandoned by destiny rises to become the sovereign who rewrites the rules of the entire werewolf world.
