The eldest daughter of the wealthy Shen family, Shen Nian, fell in love with Ji Shian, a poor scholar. On their wedding day, she unfortunately died and arrived in the Underworld. In order to accumulate merits and return to the living world, she became a ferryman. Every day, she endured the excruciating pain of being corroded by the water of the River Lethe. However, she was betrayed by Ji Shian, and then resolutely left him to return to the living world alone. Without Shen Nian, Ji Shian was extremely regretful. He remembered all the goodness of Shen Nian and wanted to win her back. To this end, he even begged the Granny Meng for help and paid the price of losing his legs to return to the living world and search for Shen Nian. Eventually, the truth about Shen Nian's death that year was exposed in public. Can Shen Nian get rid of Ji Shian's entanglement? And what was the truth of that year?
