Ruan Shiyan and Qin Sheng shared an intense and profound bond. On the eve of their engagement, Qin Sheng was killed in a plane crash. Unable to cope with the devastating blow, Ruan Shiyan developed bipolar disorder. In an attempt to stabilize her condition, Ruan Shiyan's elder brother found Jiang Sheng, a look-alike, to act as Qin Sheng's substitute.Ruan Shiyan went to great lengths to support and promote Jiang Sheng. Once Jiang Sheng thought he had secured his position, he repeatedly crossed Ruan Shiyan's boundaries for his love interest, Su Jianxia. What's more, he secretly gave Su Jianxia the wedding dress that Qin Sheng had personally designed for Ruan Shiyan. By a quirk of fate, the wedding dress ended up being torn to shreds. Jiang Sheng even threatened to sever all ties with Ruan Shiyan.Unaware of the truth, Jiang Sheng acted brazenly, oblivious to the fact that his value as a substitute had completely evaporated. Eventually, Ruan Shiyan could no longer contain herself and had a manic episode.
