Set in‑modern‑day New‑York’s gangland, Niko, the biological heir to the Moretti family, was framed as an illegitimate child by his step‑mother and cast adrift at sea when young. Eight years on, he comes back with the family’s heirloom staff. To avenge his mother, he beats numerous rivals and takes down the Viper Gang. He later sees through and defeats the plot hatched by high‑ranking DEA officer Perkins. The shocking ending reveals everything was a dream brought on after Niko ate wild berries. In truth, he stays beside his mother, living a peaceful life.
