Modern youth Zhou Yuan is accidentally kicked into an ancient painting by his eccentric master, Zhang Sanfeng, transporting him to the perilous Daxia Dynasty—where he is revealed to be the prophesied "Chosen One" capable of awakening the imperial dragon’s power. His chaotic journey begins when he stumbles into the bath of the ruthless Empress Li Zhaozhao, only to subdue a divine beast using the absurd "300 Nursery Rhymes"—a seemingly nonsensical cultivation manual. Sensing the dragon’s aura within him, Li Zhaozhao manipulates the clueless Zhou Yuan into joining her fight against the dynasty’s enemies, baiting him with the quest for the "True Destined Maiden."
