Lin Qian committed suicide and donated her heart to her dying husband, Gu Mingxuan, even though he no longer loved her. Gu Mingxuan was unaware of Lin Qian's death and even brought his white moonlight love, Xu Siyan, to live with him. However, as Gu Mingxuan gradually discovered the things Lin Qian had silently done for him—even realizing that she was his true white moonlight—he began to regret deeply and searched endlessly for her. Everyone around him insisted Lin Qian was dead, and it wasn't until her funeral and cremation that Gu Mingxuan finally believed she had given her heart to him. Overcome with grief, he even wanted to end his own life to return the heart to her.
