Princess Alice of the human realm is framed and made a sacrifice. Upon her distant marriage to the Northern Wastes, she discovers her husband is none other than Kael, the Wolf King. She returns to the palace to rescue her mother and breaks ties with the royal family, only to fall victim to the jealous schemes of the female war goddess Morgana. Risking her life, Alice seeks rare remedies and tests poisons on herself. She ultimately exposes the conspiracy, rising from a forsaken sacrifice to the supreme Wolf Queen of the Northern Wastes.
