After her husband dies a hero on the battlefield, Sofia Shaw is left to raise their daughter, Emily, alone. Years later, Emily becomes the target of a ruthless young man's pursuit. When she rejects him, he retaliates with humiliation and torment, driving Sofia to seek justice. Despite cruel opposition and a broken leg, Sofia refuses to back down. She demands to see Tim Paxton—the very man her husband died saving—to plead her daughter's case.
