Ace attorney Diana Weller wakes as a disaster‑warding bride. Her groom dies before their wedding, leaving her with her mother‑in‑law and sister‑in‑law. She accidentally becomes a mountain bandit chief. When she tries to go straight, she meets governor Ethan Hale, who is there to crush the outlaws. A mishap entangles them. She comes home to find Ethan waiting, eyeing her suspiciously. She feigns meekness, unaware he knows her secret. He closes in and sets traps to snare her.
