Mia can see how many remaining meetings she has with anyone, glowing right above their heads. Her childhood friend Jack once had 31,441 — she was sure he was her soulmate. But as Jack grows tired of her and drifts apart, his number plummets. Then she meets Ethan, Jack’s quiet roommate, whose number stretches for thousands. She chooses him. Jack completely breaks down.
